This mushroom is the most famous of them all! When someone says mushroom, usually pictures of the Amanita muscaria type are conjured. There is much history and lore surrounding this fungus.
The cap of this Plushroom is made from a cuddly red fleece. White dots are painted on by hand, so each mushy is unique just as Mother Nature intended. Stems are made from cotton flannel. Don't forget the plush, wide-wale corduroy gills!
The main difference between this plushroom and the cheaper Classic Amanita listing I have, is this one is handmade by me. The dots are carefully painted on and have great texture, whereas the China made ones have no texture because they are printed on. These are a darker shade of red and made from different materials entirely.
In the spirit of fungi, I try to bring trash to back to life when making my Plushrooms. I stuff them with upcycled polyester floof that is a byproduct from a local factory and I divert it from the landfill. I source many of the fabrics from thrift and second hand shops. I wash and check each piece for quality before using.
They are weighted with rice to stand on their own, so that you can have a fluffy mushy growing just about anywhere in your home!
Large mushrooms stand 10" tall and about 10" wide. These also have a skirt/veil and an extra tag saying it's common name and scientific name Amanita muscaria
Small mushrooms are 8" tall and about 8" wide. Still pretty big for a mushroom!
***I am now painting the caps in most popular pattern - Dots focused around the edge. If you would like one painted in another pattern as the last picture shows, please send me a message, and I'll get you on my Custom list
