Have you ever seen a maroon and yellow Bolete mushroom? I've only seen pictures, but I was inspired by the lovely natural colors and so I made the Two Colored Bolete Plushroom

The cap of this Plushroom is made from a minky maroon fabric. This fungus has pores instead of gills, so under the cap is a yellow polka dot cotton fabric. The stem is made from either yellow and maroon fabric since I couldn't decide which looked better. Large stems are painted with the alternate color for an attempted ombre effect.

At the bottom are 2 tags - one with care instructions and the other has this mushroom's names.

They are weighted with rice to stand on their own, so that you can have a fluffy mushy growing just about anywhere in your home!

Large mushrooms stand 10" tall and about 10" wide with some extra paint on the stem
Small mushrooms are 8" tall and about 8" wide. Still pretty big for a mushroom!

Mushrooms are rarely seen alone. Collect a whole family!

In the spirit of fungi, I try to bring trash back to life when making my creations. I aim to source materials as ethically as possible and I love shopping for fabric at thrift and second hand shops. This way I get the most unique textiles. I also reuse shipping materials and your Plushroom might come in a Kombucha box! I also stuff some of my pillows with floof that is a byproduct from a local factory. Reduce Reuse Recycle!
